2011 made me realize i'm a lot stronger than i thought.
circumstances were thrown my way that made me grow a lot.
and i'm ready for a new year and new adventures.
on January 26th I'm moving to Barcelona, Spain
for 6 months!
i'm very excited but also a bit sad and nervous to be leaving my wonderful city, amazing friends and family. i hope the boys and massimo still remember who i am when i get back.

How exciting!!!! I have just been overseas for 6 months and have been loving it. The nerves will fade as soon as you land in Spain. :D (I was told the same thing and didn't believe it until it did actually happen)

I just came across your blog and saw that you're moving to Barcelona for 6 months. I was there for 6 months as well about 3 years ago. You will absolutely love it! It;s such a beautifully magnificent city. You must have churros con chocolate and go to the beach as much as possible.

I have been following you blog for awhile now, I love it! That is so exciting about Barcelona! Last year at this time I decided to quit my corporate job after 3 1/2 years and moved to Memphis, TN to volunteer Teach in the inner city. Best decision ever and I am sure you will feel the same way about Barcelona :-)

It is a great city and there are certain elements that remind me of SF so I am sure you will love it. If I can recommend one thing, I would say to learn a little bit of Catalan. My boyfriend and I learned a few phrases (Bon dia is good day) and the locals loved it! I am two countries away in Italy but let me know if I can help you with anything. It is scary at first but I guarantee it will be life changing and a great experience.
