New Apartment. New Happiness

My plan was always to live at my schools accommodation for a month and then find a room in a neighborhood and area I really wanted to be in.
It definitely wasn't easy and incredibly frustrating trying to find something decent when you don't speak the language and in a foreign country.
"hola, hablas ingles? " "no" (silence) "ok, adios"

I knew I wanted to be close to the water because although I haven't been nearly as homesick, being by the water automatically makes me 100 times happier.
I found a perfect place directly in front of the harbor and the beach is literally a 5 minute walk down the street!
I'm living with three really nice people. Two guys from Mexico and a girl from Brazil.
(Mi espanol mejorara rapidamente)

Yesterday Gabby, thank the heavens for blog world, and I spent the day wandering around Barceloneta,
deciding on every restaurant we'll try and every activity we're going to take up.
(Like roller blading, stand up paddle boarding and finding friends{read:boys} with a boat)

Even though Barcelona can't seem to make up its' weather mind (sunny, cloudy, windy, rainy, sunny),
it was the perfect Sunday and welcome to my new apartment and neighborhood!

Happy Happy Happy Monday!

Yay! I am so happy for you and admittedly a little jealous. That is absolutely the location I would choose to live in as well! I love Barceloneta (as you probably could tell from reading my blog posts) and being by the beach is crucial! Have you been to the top of the Museu D'Història De Catalunya to check out the view? It is free to go up to the top floor where there is a restaurant and a large patio with great panoramic views of the city. Have fun!

Wow the small space is worth the view!! I wouldnt mind waking up to that everyday!

from the little glimpse of the apartment it looks cute! and that view from the balcony (or even just the fact that there is a balcony) is awesome! AND by the beach!? AND with three cool sounding roommates!? AND in barcelona? Yeah i'd say that's a pretty sweet deal (: hahah also i literally CRACKED UP imagining the little 'do you speak english?' interaction. oh the awkwardness. hope your time there gets better and better each day! =D

i'm so glad to hear you're settling in. It looks like you're having a great time too! When I was in Spain 2 summers ago, I stayed in the Badalona area, I definitely recommend the beach there!

Barcelona is more important than a big room. :) Your view is awesome, too, girl. Did I ever mention I'm jealous?!

How nice that you found a good apartment with good people to live with! The important thing is that you're having fun, it doesn't matter how big the apartment is! And you have a Brazilian roommate ... Those are the best people hahaha ;)
