Cookie Butter Crescent Rolls

 {hey boys, if you stand here, hold this and look cute, you can stay up a little past your bed time and have a special treat}
There's been a lot of hype about Trader Joe's Cookie Butter.
When I saw it on the shelves I obviously grabbed a jar to see if it lived up to all the raves....
I really had no idea what to expect.
Please, if you don't want to sit on the counter with a spoon digging away at it, dream about eating it for dinner or how you can sneak a scoop without some certain little brothers {or mother} seeing,
 DO NOT BUY THIS!

Since I didn't want to eat the whole thing straight out of the jar, I used a little bit of it to make Cookie Butter Crescent rolls, inspired by the Nutella Crescent Rolls

Really sad I didn't stuff a few jars in my suitcase.
Most definitely would have helped with jet lag/insomnia/reverse reverse culture shock/homesickness.

Brilliant idea! I have half a jar sitting on the counter that I've banned myself from so I quit eating it straight from the jar.

I live in Hungary and it's not avaible in the shops here so i order mine from ebay: http://search.eim.ebay.hu/?ev=&elc=-2&kw=speculoos&ect= I prefer Lotus, because it's the original :)

oh i cannot show justin this... because its ALL he will eat for weeks!

as it currently stands, he likes to put his cookie butter ON TOP of the trader joes vegan cookies (have you had those? they are FANTASTIC!) and consider that an acceptable dinner...

Times like this when I really wish we had a trader joes :(

Sigh.

Oh my gosh I have never heard of this before but I may have to go pick it up and then limit myself to a spoonful a day! This could be dangerous...

I didn't know Trader Joe's did their own version of Speculoos! I'll have to try it to see how it compares to the original. I was addicted to the Lotus stuff when we lived in Holland - it's HUGE over there :) This is a great idea putting it in crescent rolls, yummm!

Stop it. This is insane. I am seriously thinking about going to Trader Joe's right this second and stockpiling this...

And oh no, reverse reverse culture shock sounds like such a headache... hope you get re-acquainted with the lovely city soon!

Oh my gosh I neeeeeeeed these. Cookie butter is my fave. I also considered bringing a jar with me to Florence but didn't have room in my suitcase! Gonna miss it!

I *almost* bought a jar of this at TJ's yesterday but I resisted (I actually turned around and put it back on the shelf after initially adding it to my cart) because I just had a feeling I'd love it too much. I don't know how strong my will power is, though, after seeing this recipe...

Jessica said...

Definitely doing this tonight. You've convinced me.

I haven't tried the TJ version but after being in France I became addicted to the Biscoff cookie spread. Delicious! In fact, I'm eating some on a banana right now :) I like to find something to put it on instead of just eating it by the spoonful. I will have to try putting it on crescent rolls!

Oh goodness. This will be purchased/consumed this weekend. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will be done over 48, not 24 hours.

Those look awesome! I bought a jar on Monday evening and cooked steel cut oats in my crockpot that same evening. Tuesday morning I made the mistake of adding a banana and a spoonful of this to my oats. DEE-lish though!

Yes, I just recently tried this, and I don't think I can ever buy it again, because it is just too good. Like, dangerously good. :)
