we had master's classes the last two weekends. the only way to survive 18 hours a weekend in class is with food. thankful for the people who brought in homemade brownies and girl scout cookies.
honestly i was kinda dreading going back to work. but the second i'm back in the classroom with so many hugs and kisses, feeling like a celebrity, i'm so happy to be there.
having to substitute nutella for my longing for cookie butter.
madrid sunset sky.
my jet lag is finally gone. i have a new immense empathy for you insomniacs. that has to be one of the frustrating things.
visiting cervantes' birth house in alcala de heneres.
i'm going to attempt reading don quixote in spanish. ha, right.
i can just hear what my little sister is going to say to my parents when she sees these pictures,
"all niky does is go out drinking. she always has alcohol in her hand."
which is totally NOT true! but when alcohol is cheaper than water...
Happy Monday!

Oh wow, what a fun look at Madrid!
Too funny, tomorrow is grocery date so I'm running low on foods and had no fruit but bananas for my Nutella yesterday! I still prefer strawberries and apples, but I was pretty pleasantly surprised. =]
Glad to hear you've recovered from jet lag and are back to 'normal' life in Madrid!
Glad to hear you are back in the swing of things! Pictures are beautiful as usual... :)
Beautiful Nicole! I can't wait to be back in Spain next month! Will be visiting Andalusia for a couple of weeks. Any tips?
Thanks in advance!
"But when alcohol is cheaper than water..." hahaha I love this! Looks like you've had a good week getting you back into your schedule!
wait just a second...
alcohol is cheaper than water?!
why the eff am i still in california?
Ha, oh silly sisters... :)
Haha, my sister once wrote on my Facebook wall: "In how many of your profile photos are you holding a drink?" That's what little sisters are for, I guess :) And this time in our lives is our selfish time...explore, have fun, work hard, drink up. Relish it while we can, right? :)
I'll have to bring you some Cookie Butter when I head to Madrid in early June. Fingers crossed you will be in town so that we can meet there! (How funny that we live in the same state over here, but we may actually meet face to face on the other side of the world:))
Alcohol is cheaper than water in Europe! It amazed me when I was there! Those margs look delicious. And man, 18 hours in class on the weekend, that would be so rough. Glad things are all good in Madrid!

I'm sure you can find cookie butter in Spain! it was fairly common in French grocery stores, where it's called spéculoos. I would think you'd be able to find it somewhere in Spain, as it's a European creation.
i didnt like don quitoe in english....
Looks like you are already back and at it. First of all, girl scout cookies always do the trick. Secondly, Cervantes is definitely an undertaking, but you can do it girl! :) With a bit of patience and a lot of diccionario look ups.
So fun. Welcome back to Europe! :)
I went against your advice and brought Cookie Butter into my house! I tried a bite and said "ohhh this is going to be bad!" I'm going to have to hide it from myself - thanks for the rec (I think) ;)
LOL...alcohol is cheaper than water...my kind of girl! Happy Tuesday!
My mother has started photoshopping the wineglasses out of my hand in photos. Seriously.
